Amatuers in High Offices – June 08, 2009

Okay. Party’s over. Time to get back to stressing over what’s going on or not going on in this country. View this video of a Congressional hearing. (5:26 minutes) Representative Alan Grayson is questioning Ms. Coleman, Inspector General of the Federal Reserve Board, who has NO answers.

We the People are the only ones who can stop this madness, by putting so much pressure on our elected representatives, that more of them get to work representing us and stopping the nonsense. Any who won’t, must not be re-elected. Mid-term elections are in 2010, when one third of the Congress is up for election. Find out who is doing a good job and who is not. Be prepared before voting time.

Around the Constitution – June 05, 2009

Posted on June 5, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized |

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/data%3Fp…

YOU MUST READ THIS ARTICLE TODAY AND CALL YOUR ELECTED REPS! FORCE THEM TO DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION BEFORE YOU LOSE ALL YOUR RIGHTS IN A REPUBLICAN FORM OF GOVERNMENT.

IF THEY REFUSE, ASK THEM WHY? EXPOSE THEM TO THE REST OF US. FACEBOOK, TWITTER, MYSPACE, A BLOG, NEWSPAPER EDITORIALS, PHONE CALLS TO TALK SHOWS, EMAILS.

This is NOT a complete list because I haven’t found one yet. Perhaps no one can keep up with Obama’s czar appointments coming fast and furious. It is estimated that there are currently 21 czars and counting.

CZARS APPOINTED BY OBAMA:

Border czar, climate c., cyber c., drug c., economic (to the middle class) c., energy c., faith-based c., Guantanamo c., health care c., housing c., non-proliferation c., Office of Management and Budget (OMB) c., regulatory c., technology c., terrorism c., urban policy c., ………

These people are above cabinet-level positions, are not vetted or approved by Congress, and are not elected, yet answer directly to the President and have his ear. They carry out Obama’s directions under the radar. This is a dictatorship.

The longest serving Democrat in the Senate, Robert Byrd of W. Va., is sounding the alarm. However, his voice doesn’t have the power it used to since he’s been removed as chairman of the Appropriations Committee.

This article is a MUST-READ to understand the danger in the White House and breaking faith with the Constitution!

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0209/19303.html

“Byrd said such positions “can threaten the Constitutional system of checks and balances. At the worst, White House staff have taken direction and control of programmatic areas that are the statutory responsibility of Senate-confirmed officials.”

“As presidential assistants and advisers, these White House staffers are not accountable for their actions to the Congress, to cabinet officials, and to virtually anyone but the president,” Byrd wrote. “They rarely testify before congressional committees, and often shield the information and decision-making process behind the assertion of executive privilege. In too many instances, White House staff have been allowed to inhibit openness and transparency, and reduce accountability.” (This is how it benefits Obama to make them czars answering only to him. He and they can claim “executive privelege.”)

Byrd, on Wednesday asked Obama to “consider the following: that assertions of executive privilege will be made only by the president, or with the president’s specific approval; that senior White House personnel will be limited from exercising authority over any person, any program, and any funding within the statutory responsibility of a Senate-confirmed department or agency head; that the president will be responsible for resolving any disagreement between a Senate-confirmed agency or department head and White House staff; and that the lines of authority and responsibility in the administration will be transparent and open to the American public.” http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0209/19303.html

This is a threat to our freedom and our republican form of government. This is not an exaggeration. The threat is real and the threat is here, now, in the White House.

Will you sit by and allow it to happen? Will you force your representatives to act on behalf of We the People and freedom? Will you educate people in your sphere of influence?

WHAT WILL YOU DO TO PRESERVE THE CONSTITUTION?

Czars in America? – June 05, 2009

Czar – –noun

1. an emperor or king.
2. (often initial capital letter) the former emperor of Russia.
3. an autocratic ruler or leader.
4. any person exercising great authority or power in a particular field: a czar of industry.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124416737421887739.html

Elected officials are supposed to be “our” representatives. We send them “in our name” to represent “our values and desires” for “our society.” Elected officials are to pass or oppose laws and taxes that “We the People chose to be governed by or NOT.”

Our elected reps are supposed to “serve” us. Now there’s a novel idea that politicians of today don’t seem to understand. Servants do not hold their head up defiantly high and proud of themselves. Servants don’t preside “over” the electorate. In a republican form of government, which the U.S. is, there are no “czars”. Obama has appointed a lot of czars. Of course, he doesn’t call them czars, but the news media does. Perhaps because that is how they will function.

The news today is the appontment of another czar – a pay czar – to ensure that the pay of executives of firms that take bail-out money doesn’t rise above the President’s cap level. At first, people will think that is a good idea because no one likes to think that their tax dollars are being forcably taken away from their own family’s needs and given to big private companies, only to end up in a big salary for an excutive who seems to have run his company into bankruptcy.

However, on second consideration, not all of the companies were going bankrupt and not all of the companies wanted to take bail-out funds, but were forced to by Obama. Why would Obama force any company to take bail-out funds? Maybe so he could cap the pay of their executives. Maybe so he could take control over their financial activities, effectively controlling all of their decisions. Probably so he could force his belief system on private companies. This would explain why he would not allow some companies to return the bail-out funds when they begged to later. The truth is that the government has no business bailing out any private companies or publicly-traded companies, either. It’s all about Obama-control.

We have monoply laws to protect us from companies getting so big that they have a measure of control over the free enterprise and life-style of the population in their field, and could engage in price gauging. In other words, the monoply law should prevent “too big to fail”, as well. However, our government in the past, gave permission to companies to acquire and merge with their competitors until they were very close to being monopolies and were “too big to fail.”

Rather than giving bail-outs to these huge near-monopolies, the government should have at least considered breaking them up again and refraining from ever making the same mistake again. The government could have allowed them to go bankrupt and, I believe, the companies would have broken up on their own to save what they could. Companies often acquire, merge and grow too big. When they realize they can’t sustain it, they spin off their acquistitions and improve their balance sheets quickly. This would have been much better than what has been done by our government.

A bigger question is, “why has no one challenged his authority to do things that a president does not legally have the authority to do?” Why are the Congress and Senate allowing him to get away with dictating and controlling where he has no authority? Why has no one taken this to the Supreme Court? Why has no one defied him and refused to go along? Where are all the investigations and lawsuits? Clearly, a lot of what Obama is doing is un-Constitutional, yet no one is defying him, challenging him seriously or taking it to court. Why ever not??????

Perhaps the private sector needs to do this. But who has the funds to mount such a fight? Obama will print as much money as he needs to win a court battle.

In the next election for POTUS, the Democrats will own this mess. They can no longer blame Republicans or George Bush. The coming problems will be monumental and completely unrelated to anything Bush did.

We the People need to call our elected Representatives and ask them if they plan to challenge, all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary, Obama’s dictatorial actions.

A consuming self-absorption or self-love; a type of egotism. Narcissists constantly assess their appearance, desires, feelings, and abilities.”

Look around and see if anyone in the public eye fits this definition. You will probably notice that they keep their nose up in the air, literally.

My Letter to a Senator – June 01, 2009

Posted on June 1, 2009. Filed under: Uncategorized |

Judicial Nominations

Hon. Sen. Cornyn,

I’ve always supported you and voted for you. That being said, I must disagree whole-heartedly with you on something you recently said.

“I think it’s terrible. This is not the kind of tone that any of us want to set when it comes to performing our constitutional responsibilities of advice and consent,” Cornyn told NPR’s “All Things Considered” of the attack on Sotomayor as “racist.”

“Neither one of these men are elected Republican officials,” he said of Gingrich and Limbaugh. “I just don’t think it’s appropriate and I certainly don’t endorse it. I think it’s wrong.” http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0509/Cornyn_Leave_Sotomayor_alone.html

I’m particularly offended by the comment, “Neither one of these men are elected Republican officials.” What difference does that make under a Constitution that begins with “We the people…” and guarantees “freedom of speech?” Limbaugh and Gingrich are members of “We the people”.

I’ve noticed that lately, Limbaugh gets my message out far better and more accurately than any of my elected representatives. I feel that my Republican Party has left me in the dust and no longer cares what I believe in. Perhaps not you, but too many serve the golden rule of “Get thyself elected at all costs.”

I do not want to pander to any nationality, race or perverted behavior just to enlarge my tent. I believe in right and wrong. I want to stand on those principles, regardless of what it does to my tent. What good is a big tent, if it falls on everyone?

People join together because they share common beliefs and want to work together to advance those beliefs for the good of their country and their families. If I believed like the Democrats, I would have joined them. But I don’t share their beliefs and I do hope they fail to implement them because I know it would be harmful to my country, my family and me. I joined the Republicans who are now moving away from their core beliefs to be more like Democrats. It’s ludicrous to think that Republicans will get the votes of those who agree with Democrats, even those who say they are independents. If they agree with Democrats enough to vote for them, then they will never vote for a Republican, even one who has thrown his party principles overboard. Watch how it turns out for Arlen Specter. Remember Jumping Jim Jeffords? No one else does.

If my party continues to become more like Democrats, I’ll have to leave it. I guess I’ll just be an American – a member of “We the people”. That means no more donations, no more bumper stickers, no more straight party ticket voting. That’s what a lot of people are doing. I know. I don’t run around with Senators all day. I run around with ordinary and extraordinary “We the peoples”.

The Senate’s job is to thoroughly vet and investigate nominees for the Supreme Court, no matter whether they are Latino or not. This nominee is young enough to harm this country for many, many decades. Her statements should be taken for face value. What we say when we aren’t running for a big position, is what we believe. What we say when we are running for a big position is tainted with “get thyself elected” and it can’t be relyed upon. That’s a shame.

Limbaugh and Gingrich are working hard to get “our representatives” to look at what Sotomayor believes and has done and said in the past. It is Limbaugh’s country, too. He’s fighting for his country like everyone else does. He has every right to fight hard for his country’s well-being and the well-being of his family, friends and himself. Why do politicians insist on telling citizens to shut up? I hope they don’t.

I am upset with the current situation. We have too many politicians and not enough “We the people” Americans. Politicians talk and act as if the citizens are too dumb to run the country and know what’s best for themselves.

Too many politicians believe they are elite and should preside over the common people. They don’t remember that our government was set up to have the people elect “representatives”, folks who would go in our name and represent what we believe and work FOR us, not in spite of us.

I can’t follow the Republicans, if they don’t return to our core values. I won’t be a Democrat-lite.
