DEMOCRATS’ OCTOBER SURPRISE! – October 02, 2008

If you’re tired of watching your investments plummet to $0, then spend the time it takes to read the following information which all of us should at least be acquainted with.

Two Congressional acts, one known as the GSA (Glass-Steagall Act) of 1933 designed to address the causes and effects of the Depression of 1929, and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999, which addressed the unintended effects of the GSA, directly affect your investments and ability to get loans and/or insurance.

Whether or not you find this boring reading, an informed person votes intelligently, not on hysteria or emotion. An informed person is not at the mercy of myth, rumor or misinformation.

I’m still convinced that this sudden economic crisis IS the Democrats’ October surprise, as I wrote in Marbie’s Blog, Economic Emergency Solution – September 30, 2008.

When you call your representatives, which you definitely should do, demand that Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd and Hank Paulson either step down or be removed from their positions, which they grossly failed to handle responsibly.

McCain, in his desire to run an honorable campaign, has been unwilling to point his finger squarely at the culprits who willfully put us all in this crisis. IT IS NOT HONORABLE TO ALLOW CORRUPTION TO CONTINUE AND PERPETRATE ITS DEVASTATION ON ALL OF US INNOCENT INVESTORS, WHO NEED THAT HARD-EARNED MONEY FOR OUR RETIREMENT. Call McCain’s office and say so. Defend yourselves.

McCain seems to have ceded to the Democrats the notion that Obama owns the economic issue while McCain owns the foreign policy issue. Nothing could be further from the truth. Obama owns nothing. He has no experience or education in either field. McCain has years of experience debating and dealing with both. McCain is aiding and abetting this farce and the news media is thrilled.

Where has Obama shown real leadership in this ordeal? When did Obama bring unity or bring both sides together? “Call me, if you need me.” (He’ll be on the campaign trail getting face time and adoration from choirs of little girls.) Obama signed the billion dollar pork bill and was not the agent of change. It was “business as usual.”

Obama did not demand that the Senate remove the stupid addition of help for the “wooden arrows for children’s toys” business. Are you kidding me?!! If Obama won’t or can’t even handle this, what in the world can we expect from something of great importance?

BUSINESS AS USUAL. PORK BARRELS GETTING BIGGER A ND BIGGER. DEMOCRATS PAYING OFF THEIR SUPPORTERS WITH PORK. LIPSTICK ON A PORKER!!!!!

CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES IN THE HOUSE RIGHT NOW. THEY VOTE TOMORROW. CALL YOUR SENATORS AND CHASTISE THEM IF THEY VOTED FOR THIS AND THANK THEM IF THEY HAD THE COURAGE TO VOTE AGAINST IT.

BEWARE: NANCY PELOSI GIVES COVER TO THOSE DEMOCRATS WHO ARE UP FOR RE-ELECTION IN DISTRICTS THAT MAY BE TOO CLOSE TO CALL OR LEANING TO THE RIGHT. My rep. is a Democrat who never has anything polite to say about Republicans. Yet, he managed to get the office, almost by default. Now, he says he’s for drilling here and now, after Pelosi told him and others in his position that they could take that position publically to get votes and she will not allow it to come up for vote. She’s also given the same kind of cover to the same Congress people on this current economic pork bill. My Dem. rep. voted against it, whch is totally contrary to everything he believes. Pelosi stated that she only wanted the bill to pass with half Dems’ and half Repubs’ “yes” votes. She said she wanted it to be a bi-partisan bill.

That’s crazy. She is the most paritsan person in the Congress. She made a speech on the floor of the House just before the vote, in which she railed against Repubs and called them unpatriotic. She was quite insulting and inaccurate, deliberately inaccurate. In some circles, that’s called a lie.

She wanted the votes split so that her “iffy” Dem. candidates can vote with the people and get elected. These people are so devious and dishonest. Don’t fall for everything you hear on the news.

There is no financical crisis as described by Paulson. The President may have been duped. The Senate is doing business as usual. Only the Republicans in Congress, and not all of them – just the conservatives – have had the courage to do the right thing.

The stock market is crashing because the President got on television twice and told us all that we are going into the greatest economic crisis since the great depression. Our politicians are scaring everyone beyond reason. That will always cause the stock market to crash. It’s very wary of any “bad news”. It is easily spooked. And it’s October again. October is the traditonal crash month. It’s bewitching.

There is no more time to do nothing.

Senators who voted “NO”. See if any of them are in “squeaker” re-election campaigns and may have voted “no” under Pelosi’s cover plan.

Allard (R), Barasso (R), Brownback (R), Bunning (R), Cantwell (D), Cochran (R), Crapo (R), DeMint (R), Dole (R), Dorgan (D), Enzi (R), Feingold (D), Inhofe, (R), Johnson (D), Landrieu (D), Nelson – Fl. (D), Roberts (R), Sanders (I), Sessions (R), Shelby (R), Stabenow (D), Tester (D), Vitter (R), Wicker (R), Wyden (D) 15 Republicans, 9 Democrats and 1 Independent

McCAIN (R), OBAMA (D) AND LEIBERMAN (I) VOTED FOR IT. People will call this bi-partisan. I call it simply “typical politician.” There is nothing new here. It’s a real porker and popular with the Senate.

Sen. Ted Kennedy was the only senator who did not vote. He is recovering from a brain tumor and was very recently in the hospital.
