Brigitte Bardot, former movie star, is on trial in France for speaking against Muslim acts. Apparently, she does not enjoy freedom of speech in her native country, once noted for its great beauty, art and free lifestyle.

“Prosecutors asked that the Paris court hand the 73-year-old former sex symbol a two-month suspended prison sentence and fine her 15,000 euros ($23,760) for saying the Muslim community was “destroying our country and imposing its acts”. http://www.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idUSL1584799120080415?feedTy… Reuters, April 15, 2008

She is fined for inciting racial hatred, which she has been fined for four times before. The prosecutor wants a much stiffer sentence for Brigitte because she is tired of prosecuting her.

France has the largest Muslim population (5 million) in Europe now, and they slaughter sheep to commemorate the act when Abraham offered his own son a sacrifice to God. But God stopped him and supplied a ram for the sacrifice instead. Miss Bardot is an animal rights activist who wants the practice stopped.

She despises the Islamization of France. “I am fed up with being under the thumb of this population which is destroying us, destroying our country and imposing its acts,” she said.

She may be right. France has already caved in to Muslim demands to squelch free speech if the subject is a negative view of Islam. And how long has it been since animal sacrifice was practiced in a First World country? Is “inciting racial hatred” really an appropriate charge? Can’t citizens see fault with a group of people that needs to be addressed and debate it without that being labeled as inciting racial hatred? Public discourse is the means by which citizens in a democracy “iron out” differing views, educate the electorate and prepare for elections. French anti-racist groups complained about Miss Bardot’s opposition to the Muslim’s tradition of slaughtering sheep during their observance of Eid el-Adha .

Bardot sees immigration from Muslim countries as exacerbating the situation. As their numbers grow, their demands increase, encroaching upon the native French population’s freedom and gradually smothering out the traditions of the French. England is grappling with the same problem. If the governments of these countries don’t cowtow, they are punished with bombings and other acts of terrorism. Both England and Spain have suffered this.

We should give serious thought to how many Muslims are immigrating to America and how many children are born after they come here. This country prides itself on throwing the borders wide open and welcoming people from all over the world to join us and live a better life. But just what if a particular group of people had an agenda of overthrowing our government and instituting their own religious laws in place of our existing freedoms? Their tactic could be subtle. They could use our own laws against us. They could come here, increasing in numbers among us until there were enough to put real pressure on elected officials to pass laws that they want. They could demand that judges use the letter of our laws and ignore the spirit of our laws, in order to impose on Americans that which is abhorrent to them.

Suppose the Islamization of America really was the agenda and is being implemented gradually – like the frog in hot water – the temperature slowly rises, barely noticed until the frog is too cooked to jump out of the pot!
